Our Story
Southern Roots Dental was founded with a simple mission: provide high-quality modern dentistry while creating meaningful relationships with the people we serve. We understand that visiting the dentist should feel comfortable and reassuring — not rushed or impersonal.
As a North Carolina native born and raised in the local community, Dr. Andrew Burns is passionate about caring for the families and neighbors who make this area feel like home. His vision was to build more than just a dental office — he wanted to create a trusted dental home where patients are treated like family and every recommendation is made with honesty and transparency.

Meet Your Doctor
Dr. Andrew Dillon Burns, D.M.D.
Dr. Andrew Burns is proud to call Saint Pauls, North Carolina, home. A lifelong member of the community, he attended Saint Pauls schools from elementary through high school and was also dual-enrolled through the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics in Durham during his high school years.
Dr. Burns attended East Carolina University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry in 2014. He continued his education at the East Carolina University School of Dental Medicine, earning his Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) degree in 2018.
Committed to providing the highest quality care for his patients, Dr. Burns has completed extensive continuing education in advanced implant dentistry and cosmetic dentistry. He is passionate about helping patients achieve healthy, confident smiles while delivering personalized care in a comfortable and welcoming environment.
Outside the office, Dr. Burns enjoys spending time with his wife and their three children. He is an avid golfer, fisherman, and camper who appreciates the outdoors and the opportunity to make lasting memories with family and friends. Dr. Burns and his family currently reside in Saint Pauls, where he is honored to serve the community that helped shape him.
